Organic Farm Holiday

Casale Camalda is made up of some ancient rural buildings, on the Appennino Mountains between Florence and Arezzo, inside the National Park of Casentino Forests.
The farm grows organically quinces, sorbs, elders, cherry trees, barley, little fruits and apiculture. Located in a silent and isolated position, amid woods and streams very near the Monastery of Camaldoli, which can be reached also walking through beautiful and easy paths.
Frequent are the close encounters with red deer, fallow deer, roe deer, wild boars, buzzards, squirrels, foxes and other animals living in this large protected area; it’s also easy to find the traces of the wolf ‘s presence.
Casale Camalda grounds its philosophy and actions on the deepest respect to the conservation of nature; its activities are always environment friendly.
In Casale Camalda guests can separate their waste and recycle bottles, plastics, tins, cans and paper, they can also put their organic waste into the compost-hole. All detergents, paints and materials for the house are exclusively made of natural essences, and running water is heated thanks to the clean energy of the sun.
English, German and French are spoken.

1) Firenze Sud Exit, then direction Consuma Pass (State Road n. 70)
2) Arezzo Exit, then direction Poppi-Bibbiena (State Road n. 71)
– E 45 Cesena-Perugia-Orte
Bagno di Romagna Exit, then direction Mandrioli Pass – Badia Prataglia – Arezzo (State Road n. 71)
At km 188 of S. R. nr. 71 follow sign indication “Casale Camalda” and “Castagnoli”, go up a country road for 1.8 Km and you’ll reach Casale CamaldaBy train:
Get off the train at Arezzo station, then take the local “Ferrovia LFI” and get off at Bibbiena station.

By Bus:
SITA Local bus line from Florence Santa Maria Novella station to Poppi station.
