Organic Farm – Hiking Centre

m. 678 a.s.l.

Between Florence and Arezzo, in a wonderful forested mountain area, rich in wild animals ( wolves, deer, eagles, wild boars ) and in hermitages monasteries and medieval castles. Casale Camalda is an ancient rural stone mansion, in a secluted and quiet spot among woods and streams, near the historical Monastery of Camaldoli, which can also be reached walking on comfortable and smooth paths through the forest.

Casale Camalda gives hospitality in restored independent apartments and in a small detached house, which were once barns, stables and chestnuts driers. All of them have kitchen, bathroom and private heating.

At Casale Camalda guests are hosted in independent apartments, which were former historical rural annexes newly restored, and in a part of the original farmhouse.
Every space of hospitality has got its own bathroom, kitchen and heating and the rooms have sight beams, wooden or terracotta-tiled floors, while the
furnishing as well as the materials used follow the rural tradition of Tuscany: wood, stone, terracotta tiles and wrought iron.
Every kitchen is fully equipped with cutlery, pottery, pots and pans and also with sugar, salt, spices, vinegar, tea, coffee….

Escursioni Guidate

From Casale Camalda several old and historical paths lead to the Monastery of Camaldoli and are connected to the whole path- network of the Foreste Casentinesi National Park (more than 800 km of signed paths).
Three paths,(link) all smooth, are extremely interesting from a natural and historical point of view, and because of the landscape you can enjoy walking.
Advice and assistance for other interesting excursions to the wildest and secluded spots of the National Park are offered by the owner of Casale Camalda, Ennio Dallari, Guide of the Park.

    Here the dreams come true
  • Last year in October my boyfriend and I spent a lovely weekend in a beautiful setting of mountains and forests of Casentino.
Everything was perfect. The owners are very kind and helpful, the apartments are well furnished in a rustic style and the outdoors are well kept.
You can visit the beautiful hermitage of Camaldolesi monks and the shrine of La Verna just a few kms away. Arezzo and Poppi defintely worth a visit. A beautiful and relaxing holiday.

  • We spent 1 week at Casale Camalda and we want to say thank you to Carla, Ennio and family for the familiar hospitality, for their simpaty, for their advices to discover the magic Foreste Casentinesi National Park. This part of Tuscany isn’t so famous like Chianti or Florence but is beautiful with its castles, monasteries, forests and wild animals! See you soon, Casale Camalda!

    Beautiful Italy-Beautiful Farm
  • Our family spent 2 weeks at Casale Camalda. The welcome and stay are warm and family, the little farm is situated in a beautiful natural setting with woods, streams and wild animals. The valley is rich in medieval castles and villages, romanic churches, hermitages and sanctuaries. At Casale Camalda our kids were free to run barefoot everywhere like little savages, on the meadows and in the small pool or in the near stream under the waterfall. The apartments are clean and well supplied and we could take freely from the kitchen-garden lettuce, tomatoes and carrots. Ennio, the owner, is a guide of the National Park and leads guests to discover, during easy hikings, the secrets of this wonderful area in Tuscany.

    Wonderful spot and nice people
  • if you love loud music and bright lights, please DON’T come here! This is real Italy, for people looking to get off the beaten track ( a car is essential) Highlights of this wonderful hideaway include the dark night skies, the nature around you and wonderful hosts Ennio and Carla who really care about preserving their environment and love helping their guests enjoy the beauty that Nature has to offer here. We stayed in the downstairs apartment and it felt like home from home.
